Simpactful Names John Torru as Chairperson

In a move designed to drive the next stage of growth, Simpactful names John Torru, Chairperson effective March 1, 2023. John will replace Jessica White Hall, who will retire effective May 1, 2023. These moves support the strategies that will expand our suite of commercial capabilities and fuel profitable growth on behalf of Simpactful’s 220 clients worldwide.

Utilizing a practitioner-based model that leverages experienced leaders from CPG Brand and Retail firms to provide unparalleled expertise, unique insights, and practical solutions from both sides of the desk for clients. Torru’s global experience across multiple categories, functions, and retailers, positions him well for the next stage of Simpactful’s growth. He is a CPG veteran who has held commercial roles across Sales, Marketing, and Product Supply at leading companies such as P&G, Clorox, Del Monte, and Big Heart Pet brands (a PE backed firm sold to JM Smucker).

At Simpactful, John has led over 100 engagements with clients ranging from multi-year go-to-market commercial transformations in strategy, structure, and process to targeted M&A evaluations for CPG companies and PE firms, as well as supporting Brand start-ups’ scale and grow across the omnichannel environment. This broad platform of work helped him further hone the strategic, operational, and executional skills required to lead Simpactful’s next phase of growth. Hall is celebrated for her significant contributions over the past eight years. As a founding member, she developed core capabilities that have contributed to the overall growth of Simpactful, most notably Strategic Scenario Planning, Actionable Insights, Organizational Design, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging.  During her tenure as Chairperson, Simpactful has continued to see incremental growth in its client base and number of projects. The company has added 6 new partners, deepening the firm’s expertise in Food/Grocery, Commercial Planning, Revenue Growth Management, Operations and Logistics, Marketing, Retailer Advertising, and Innovation, while also expanding the firm’s presence in Europe. Hall has created and established frameworks and processes that have driven faster and stickier decisions and increased productivity. Under her leadership, Simpactful has incorporated new systems that set a firm foundation for incremental future growth. Hall says, “This has been a profoundly incredible journey.
