Expanding Simpactful’s end-to-end Commercial Capability with World-class Marketing and Sales Practitioners, Simpactful is excited to name Marie Hanson as Senior Consultant.
Over the past 30 years, Marie Hanson has honed her skill as an outstanding commercial operator while building an impressive track record of success across public and private manufacturers, as well as the agency side of the business.
While serving most recently as the Chief Sales Officer for Acosta Sales and Marketing, Marie was responsible for leading the sales organization across all channels and classes of trade for the US market. In this role, she and her team represented thousands of brands to retailers. She led the growth and development of a 4,000-person sales organization‘s internal sales process, including the annual revenue plan, forecasting, contract negotiations, client profitability, client leadership, and value creation for the overall client base. In addition, Marie led the Acosta Solutions back-office team. She previously held the position as Chief Client Officer for Impact Group prior to the acquisition by Acosta in July of 2021.
Prior to this role, Marie held numerous sales roles in the CPG industry, including the role Chief Sales Officer for Mezzetta Foods from 2017 to 2019, and Senior Vice President of Sales at Diamond Foods, Inc. from 2008-2016. During her tenure she served as Vice President of Customer Marketing and Trade Finance at Diamond Foods, and Vice President of Sales for US Grocery. These roles built upon early career successes at Kraft and Nabisco.
The addition of Marie to the Simpactful team strengthens our Commercial Transformation Capability. She will help clients assess untapped opportunities for growth across the Omnichannel and realign their strategies, investment choices, structure and organization, and operations and processes to achieve growth.
Marie envisioned retiring early but has found fulfillment in leveraging her skills and experiences to support Simpactful clients. “I am a natural fixer and have been brought into numerous companies to evaluate the Commercial Strategy, the business model, and the organization and to determine what must be done to deliver the strategic business results. With Simpactful, it is freeing to have the opportunity to lend my skills and expertise to others with the ability to be more objective because I am not emotionally tied to building a career within the client’s organization.”
Marie splits her time between the outskirts of Seattle and Palm Springs with her husband of 28 years. When they are not spending time with their sons and their grandchildren, you will likely find them on water or downhill skis, or out on the links!
