Taylor Smith brings a wealth of experience to Simpactful after recently leaving Walmart and previously having worked for Diageo and Brinker International. His specialty areas include P&L/fiscal management, client relationship, sales management, brand management, merchandising program development and implementation, operations and more.
Taylor’s client relationship and sales management expertise runs deep. Taylor has built and maintained relationships within the worlds largest retailer, several consumer products companies, large national/international restaurant chains, and a broad range of merchandise and equipment suppliers. For example, Taylor leveraged this experience developing the sales plan for the implementation of the $4 generic drug program in Walmart’s Pharmacy Benefit Management program .
When it comes to his brand management and merchandising expertise, Taylor has led retail and national brand management strategies. In one case, he established a coherent private label brand strategy through brand development and positioning of Walmart’s Parents Choice Brand. Through his leadership, Parent’s Choice is exceeding annual sales targets and growing private label, while driving overall department business from negative/flat to growing in excess of annual sales targets.
Tom Olson brings to the Simpactful team some amazing retail experience as well, after recently leaving the Target Corporation. Tom has a broad range of experience, from Merchandising, Category Management, Operations, Inventory Management, P&L development, and more.
Most recently, Tom led the merchandising team at Target as the VP over departments like Household, Personal Care, Baby, Dry Grocery, Dairy, and Frozen. He personally planned and executed Joint Business Plans with CPG companies and led his team to deliver business growth via great item selection, shelving, promotion, pricing and merchandising in all Target stores.
As a result of his leadership, Target enjoyed continuous sales and gross margin $ and rate increases year over year for much of Tom’s tenure. He was also successful in improving Target’s owned brand offering and business performance. Tom’s range of experience and knowledge of the Retail business can provide great insight and experience for any organization looking to drive higher top line sales and profits.
