Simpactful Expands General Management, Growth Transformation, and Sustainability Expertise with the Addition of Clorox Alumni, Ed Huber

Simpactful is pleased to welcome Ed Huber as a Senior Consultant, further strengthening the firm’s capabilities across general management, portfolio strategy, innovation, go-to-market transformation, and sustainability-led growth. Ed brings more than 30 years of senior leadership experience across consumer packaged goods and consumer durables, with a track record of accelerating growth, restoring performance, and leading complex, multi-billion-dollar businesses through periods of change.

Ed’s career reflects deep experience on both sides of the desk – combining P&L ownership, enterprise leadership, and hands-on transformation work that aligns squarely with Simpactful’s pragmatic, results-oriented consulting model. Most recently, Ed served in multiple senior leadership roles at The Clorox Company, including Vice President and General Manager, Chief Sustainability Officer, and Vice President of Sales Planning. Across these roles, he led iconic brands such as Kingsford®, Glad®, Brita®, Clorox®, and Laundry, overseeing portfolios ranging from $600 million to more than $1 billion in annual revenue.

Throughout his career, Ed has been instrumental in delivering meaningful business turnarounds and sustained growth. He reversed multi-year declines and drove step-change improvements in both sales and profitability, including a 20-point sales improvement and a 34-point profit improvement for Kingsford®, and the revitalization of Brita® through a new go-to-market strategy and the brand’s first major innovation in more than three decades. His leadership approach consistently blends operational discipline, portfolio focus, and strategic investment to unlock performance and build momentum.

Ed also brings deep expertise in innovation pipeline development and portfolio strategy. He has built and strengthened innovation systems across established brands, launching new platforms that elevated consumer relevance through design, performance, and renewed brand purpose. His work has spanned sustaining innovation, major platform launches, and long-term portfolio shaping – ensuring innovation is both strategically aligned and commercially impactful.

A defining dimension of Ed’s leadership is his ability to integrate sustainability and ESG into core business strategy. As Clorox’s first Chief Sustainability Officer, he established the Sustainability Center of Excellence and embedded ESG priorities across operating units, aligning the enterprise to ambitious goals such as Net Zero by 2050. His work connected sustainability to packaging, energy, formulation, and portfolio decisions – demonstrating how responsible business practices can drive growth, resilience, and competitive advantage.

Ed resides in Moraga, California, with his wife, Stacey. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid golfer and sports fan who got caught up in the Indiana Football story as both of his children attended IU. He is excited to join the Simpactful Senior Consultant roster. “I have grown up in the CPG industry and have a tremendous passion for helping people and businesses grow. I love to make a difference and “move the needle” on growth initiatives. That is what attracted me to Simpactful – their practical approach that focuses on delivering results the right way.”

At Simpactful, Ed’s experience enhances the firm’s ability to help clients strengthen operating models, sharpen go-to-market execution, and align innovation, sustainability, and commercial planning into cohesive growth strategies. Simpactful co-founder and Chief Client Officer, David Friedler, reflects on his experience working with Ed at The Clorox Company as well as on Simpactful client feedback. “At Clorox, Ed was known for building high-performing, cross-functional teams and for a leadership style grounded in clarity, structure, and alignment – capabilities that translate directly into client impact, and we have seen these skills translate perfectly with Simpactful clients. His ability to distill complex problems into simple and clear business strategies and choices using his wealth of career experience makes him the perfect fit with the Simpactful practitioner model.

Ed joins a growing team of seasoned retail and CPG leaders who bring practical experience, strategic clarity, and executional excellence to every engagement. His addition further strengthens Simpactful’s ability to help clients navigate complex transformations, accelerate growth, and build a durable competitive advantage.
